Frequently Asked Questions
What conditions do you treat?
We specialize in the rehabilitation of post-operative, orthopedic and sports-related injuries. See a list of some of the common conditions treated at SPT here.
What Can I Expect On My First Visit?
Your first appointment will last about one hour. We ask that you arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete any paperwork not already submitted online.
During your visit, your therapist will:
Review your paperwork to understand your medical history and background.
Conduct a brief interview where you’ll share details about your condition, how it affects your daily activities, and your personal goals for therapy.
Perform a physical examination, which may include a functional assessment and specific tests such as range of motion, joint mobility, and strength.
Explain the findings of your evaluation and how they relate to your condition.
Discuss a personalized plan of care, including recommended frequency and duration of visits.
You’ll also have time to ask questions so you feel confident and informed about the next steps in your care.
do you take my insurance?
We are in network with many of the major health insurance plans offered in Connecticut. We also accept Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle plans. If you don’t have insurance or you have run out of covered visits for the year, there is a discounted self pay rate. We also offer courtesy billing to most insurers for plans that we are not contracted with but that cover out of network services. Please call the office or email info@southburypt.com with any additional questions or to verify your coverage.
