Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do you treat?

We specialize in the rehabilitation of post-operative, orthopedic and sports-related injuries. See a list of some of the common conditions treated at SPT here.

What Can I Expect On My First Visit?

Your first appointment will last about one hour. We ask that you arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete any paperwork not already submitted online.

During your visit, your therapist will:

  • Review your paperwork to understand your medical history and background.

  • Conduct a brief interview where you’ll share details about your condition, how it affects your daily activities, and your personal goals for therapy.

  • Perform a physical examination, which may include a functional assessment and specific tests such as range of motion, joint mobility, and strength.

  • Explain the findings of your evaluation and how they relate to your condition.

  • Discuss a personalized plan of care, including recommended frequency and duration of visits.

You’ll also have time to ask questions so you feel confident and informed about the next steps in your care.

do you take my insurance?

We plan to be in network with most major insurance plans. Currently we accept Medicare, Aetna and Aetna Medicare Advantage plans. This list will be updated as more of our contracts are finalized. We also have a reduced self pay rate for those without insurance or who are out of network. You can also check with your insurance provider if you have out of network PT benefits. Please call the office or email info@southburypt.com with any additional questions.
